Mindfulness Trainings of the Order of Interbeing
I’ve been reading Being Peace by Thich Nhat Hanh and I found these great and simple Fourteen Mindfulness Trainings of the Order of Interbeing. These are the ones I think would be useful for me and I will try to follow them to some extent: The Second Mindfulness Training:Non-attachment to Views Aware of suffering created by attachment to views and wrong perceptions, I am determined to...

QR codes useful websites
For this project I’ll be doing artwork which is entirely based on QR codes and which is meant to be decoded - recoded, so I have found these websites which are pretty useful http://qrcode.kaywa.com/  - this one creates QR codes for images, websites, text, etc http://miniqr.com/reader.php - this one can transform the QR code and show the information “hidden behind it”

Oscars fashion review
The Oscars Ceremony -an evening dedicated to the celebration of great art, talent and fashion. The stars on the red carpet are elegance itself and the way most of the frocks and gowns are chosen gives a new meaning to the phrase “dress to impress”. This years celebration is no exception, despite the fact that most of the stars have chosen to stay safe and mainly wear dresses...

My Oscars predictions
I am really excited for the Oscars. Each year I try to watch as many of the nominated movies as possible and 2012 was no exception. From what I’ve seen so far my list would be: Best Picture - really loved The tree of Life, but I think The Artist will win. Actor In a Leading Role - tough one, but again I think it will be Jean Dujardin from The Artist. Actress In a Leading Role - Rooney...

Alan Turing - A Short Biography
Alan Turing’s Childhood Alan Mathison Turing was born on the 23rd of June 1912 to Julius and Ethel Turing. (Hodges, 1985, p.5) Alan and his older brother were cared for by a retired couple while their parents were in India; it was during this time that Alan taught himself to read and recognise numbers: ‘(Alan) had an infuriating habit of stopping at every lamp post to identify its...

Alan Turing quotes
A computer would deserve to be called intelligent if it could deceive a human into believing that it was human. I believe that at the end of the century the use of words and general educated opinion will have altered so much that one will be able to speak of machines thinking without expecting to be contradicted. Machines take me by surprise with great frequency. Mathematical reasoning...

Apple's logo
An interview with the man, who designed Apple’s logo, where he talks about how people believe that Alan Turing’s death inspired his design CB: Is it possible you were influenced subconsciously by these stories? RJ: Well, I’m probably the least religious person, so Adam and Eve didn’t have anything to do with it. The bite of knowledge sounds fabulous, but that’s not...

video review
I have written a review about Coldplay’s video before but this time I want to express my disappointment. What I’ve always admired about their videos, was their originality and this is what is missing in their latest video. “Charlie Brown” shows the story of a guy who steals a car, picks up his girlfriend and they both go to a party where Coldplay are playing - reminds me of...
